TrekAmerica specialises in small group adventures for 18-38's to the Americas, and tomorrow (Sun 17 May) they'll be assembling a team of ten bloggers and YouTubers at London Gatwick for their flight to Las Vegas and the start of a 10-day fam tour of the American South West.
The team includes travel, beauty and lifestyle bloggers and YouTubers: Emma Blackery, Steve Booker, Evan Edinger, Hannah Gale, Lily Melrose, Ed Rex, Corrie Swaffield, Candice Walsh, Hannah Witton, and Tyson Mayr, an Australian travel addict who joins the trip fresh from a recent stint in the jungle on Australia's I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
The #iTrekHere (it has its own website) road trip will visit a number of America's most iconic destinations, including some of the most stunning national parks in the USA such as Zion, Bryce, Arches, and of course the Grand Canyon. In addition to the bloggers own 'live' social content, posts and videos, they will be accompanied by a professional film crew who will be filming all the action live from the road.
"We know that young international travellers are now heading online to research their next big trip," says Louise Hughes, head of marketing at TrekAmerica.
"The rise in popularity of YouTubers and bloggers with this generation and within the travel industry only confirms that as a company the next logical step was to target this active online audience. Our line up represents the best of this group; fun, adventurous young people who provide honest, accessible and candid information in a format that appeals to our passengers."
UK blogger, Hannah Gale, said: "I'm really excited to get to explore a part of the world I probably wouldn't get to otherwise, plus I get to do it all with some like-minded online brains and I can't wait to meet everyone and get exploring. It's definitely going to be a once in a lifetime adventure I'll never forget."
Astonishingly for such a well-travelled blogger, it will be Ed Rex's first time in the USA. Talking about those iconic travel moments we all experience when we visit somewhere for the first time, he has a clear picture in his head of what his 'moment' will probably be: "I think it will the epic Route 66* with this playing in the background: 'Born in the USA'. I'll be in my jeans, T-shirt, sunglasses, tousled hair and walking along the route with my camera slung behind me!"
We'll be able to see if Ed's moment lives up to expectation because throughout the road trip the group will be sharing their experiences on various social media channels using hashtags #iTrekHere and #TrekAmerica.
At each new destination TrekAmerica will release a film and set a question on the #iTrekHere site. Fans who answer correctly could win one of six prizes including souvenirs collected by the bloggers and Youtubers, and the grand prize of a place on the TrekAmerica tour, Westerner 2.
* Route 66 is not highlighted on the #iTrekHere itinerary, but they will stop off on it on their way back to Las Vegas.
