Kyoto, Japan: Two Attractions You Need To Visit

The only Attractions to see in Kyoto, Japan

If you’re in Kyoto for more than a day or even just a day then you need to only see these two attractions. Kyoto is a city full of history, temples, and great food. The two attractions that are worthwhile in Kyoto are first; the Fushimi Inari Shrine and hike to the top, and secondly, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.

If you want to be wowed then visit these two attractions for wow factor.

Also, both attractions are free!

1. Fushimi Inari Shrine

This is an attraction you can wander and also get a workout. Unlike most Shinto shrines, Fushimi Inari Taisha, in keeping with typical Inari shrines, is traditional and feels automatically different from anything else in Japan. Expect to be challenged and bring walking shoes because walking to the top of Fushimi is 4 kilometers and takes 1-2 hours to reach the top! The true heart of Japanese culture and identity is shinto,  whichis the ethnic religion of the people of Japan. It is defined as an action-centered religion, focused on ritual practices to be carried out diligently, to establish a connection between present-day Japan and its ancient past.

2. Arashiyama Bamboo Grove

The famed bamboo grove is very popular, but one-of-a-kind. This place is particularly awesome at night. Remember to look up in the grove and get lost in the green color of this grove. The area has been a popular destination since the Heian period of Japanese history (794 - 1185).
