Jebel Toubkal Winter Ascent

Jebel Toubkal Winter Ascent

As mountain novices we didn't know what we were letting ourselves into when we decided to reach the summit of Jebel Toubkal, which at 4,167m is the highest point in North Africe, before sunrise. Especially considering it was our first time wearing crampons.

Undettered by the sight of another hiker being airlifted to hospital after falling from the mountain a few days previously, we set off in pitch black and freezing temperatures and were rewarded with a truly special sight at the top.
