Take a look at one of the most popular dishes to come about after the Korean War.
The dish originated during the Korean War, and in its aftermath when food was scarce and meat was hard to find. Simply put, there was little to eat. When placed in that situation, individuals always rise to the occasion and create interesting solutions. This was no exception. Locals made a stew out of what ever they had on hand, combining leftover Spam and hot dogs from U.S. Army facilities with whatever else was available. All the leftovers were combined with water in a large pot and boiled.
