Iceland: In Winter and in a Camper

Traveling to Iceland in winter is absolutely fascinating and worthwhile! Have a look!

During our trip on Iceland we visited the “classics” like the capitol Reykjavík, the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle with Pingvellir National Park, Gulfoss, Geysir and Strokkur. What really fascinated us was also the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlon with the black beach / diamond beach – a volcanic beach with huge ice blocks that have been washed ashore and look like diamonds. Pure magic where the unbelievable Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis by night. An incredible natural spectacle.

During our drive trough the beautiful countryside and along volcanoes like the famous Eyjafjallajökull we encounter lots of the cute Icelandic Horses. Really exciting was also the hike on the glacier Sólheimajökull.

We absolutely recommend to discover Iceland with a camper. Also in winter! It is not as cold as we suspected it to be and the northern lights are definitely worth every chill.
