It’s practically impossible to describe the awesome power of the Iguaçu Falls.
The rushing water, the plumes of steam, the roar of the water…it’s something you have to experience for yourself to truly understand. The falls literally swallow you, so it’s no wonder that the most violent part of the falls is known as the Devil’s Throat, or ‘Garganta del Diablo’ in Spanish or ‘Garganta do Diabo’ in Portuguese.
While you can see sneak peaks of the wonder from Brazil, Argentina has an enormous Catwalk that walks you directly into the center of the abyss. Directly outside is a poem by Alfonso Ricciutto, when interpreted reads:
Do not attempt to describe what you see with your voice
Only lean your forehead against the abyss
That is the reflection of the word ‘God.”
Pretty intense, right?
Instead of attempting to describe the feeling, I thought I’d show you with video.
Throw on a pair of headphones for the full effect, and enjoy.
