This week on Explore your Environment, Jo and I headed down to Tongdosa, one of the three crown jewel temples of Korea.
After passing through a canopied trail to the main temple complex, dotted with water features, you're treated to one of the best temples in Korea.
Tongdosa was founded in 646 by Precept Master Jajang. He traveled from China with several relics from the Buddha. When this temple was built, there were no statues of the Buddha constructed, because Precept Master Jajang enshrined the relics he carried with him on the hallowed grounds.
