If you need to visit Harare on business or, are over-nighting in Harare before visiting any of the other fabulous destinations in Zimbabwe, then Wild Geese Lodge is the place.
As a picky ‘Traveldude’, I can highly recommend it – it’s not in the centre of Harare but just outside and when you are there – you feel far away from the city.
The service is fantastic, the staff friendly and efficient, the rooms are beautiful and the food delicious.
To add to this, is the ambiance of Wild Geese Lodge – the open-air patios, the walks into the conservancy – where you’ll have a taste of what the Zimbabwean bush holds dear – Sable antelope and other plains game! The use of colour throughout the lodge and décor is tasteful and for those needing to stay in touch, Wi-Fi is available!
Most importantly – the bathrooms are clean, both those in your room and the public loos! Yes – the sheets are clean too and pressed! The clean air outside matches – with no stinky drains or septic tank odours floating past your room and the gardens are an absolute delight!
In conclusion, if you are wanting a safe haven in Harare, then book at Wild Geese Lodge. We had no idea we were staying in a volatile country and we did not pay a fortune for that luxury either!
