Bai Tu Long Bay belongs to the Gulf of Tonkin, in the Northeast of Vietnam. Bai Tu Long contains a part of the sea of Halong city, Cam Pha city and Van Don island district.

Bai Tu Long is bordered by Halong Bay to the southwest, the sea to the east, Cam Pha city to the west and Co To island district to the northeast. Bai Tu Long is comprised of hundreds of islands with different sizes and shapes. Many of them are quite large and have a become place of residence of local people.
