"Como agua para chocolate" was the best food experience I've ever had on a trip.
I discovered the restaurant while I was planning my trip to Santiago de Chile last year.
It's quoted on every travel guide I read but what conquered me was a Brazilian blog entry talking about how good the restaurant was. So I made my reservation.
I went alone, but the restaurant is good for groups of friends, families and also perfect for a romantic dinner.
There a lot of other options to choose, from fish and seafood to meat and chicken. I chose a Chilean fish called Congrio, which is the best fish I've ever tried in my life. The dish is called "Nuestro Congrio di Sempre" and its Congrio with spinach sauce and an almond gratin. Just perfect!
To drink, I chose a Vina Concha y Toro Carmenerè (I visited the Vina on the same day), which is a very good wine. And for dessert, I tried a red fruits pie with vanilla ice-cream. It was beautiful and delicious.
Como agua para chocolate is, once for all, a restaurant which worth the visit. It's not cheap at all, but I think the value is reasonable.
They have a site - www.comoaguaparachocolate.cl - where you can confer the menu (even in English) and make your reservation.
