I’ve realised that there are many more posts with travel tips for singles or for couples without children than there are for travellers with children.
And it’s true that when starting to travel people are mainly single, but then, when they’ve been travelling for a while these young single travellers may have children. When you’ve got a child and you are a traveller, you’ve got two options (like most of times in life, by the way): keeping on travelling with your child or stopping travelling.
This easy. I have no idea how many of you reading me now have given up travelling because of having a baby or if, on the contrary, you’ve made of your kid a little globetrotter.
One day we can talk about the pros and cons of travelling with children, but today I would like to offer you some possibilities just in case you happen to be around one of the Berlin apartments with your kids.
If you like handicrafts and your children too (though they surely do) there is one place where to spend an awesome afternoon together. It’s called La Bastillerie, a kind of workshop where you can get very cheap material and where the only limits will be your imagination and your kind of hands’ abilities.

Undoubtedly one of the best activities you can do with your children. The Kinderdomäne Dahlem is an organic farm project in the middle of Berlin. Small and adults will have fun feeding the animals, helping drive the tractor, harvesting beeswax…
Königin-Luise-Straße 49, 14195 Berlin,
Of course, there is another wilder option (and also more expensive) called the Zoologischer Garten and Aquarium (southeast corner of the Tiergarten).
Another activity which I am sure not only children will enjoy it’s this circus and magic workshop named JUXirkus, where you cannot only attend a circus performance but also be part of it. If you want circus training note that it’s a 2 pm every weekday. You’d better phone before appearing to be given a workshop as it is quite popular amongst Berliners. They also offer the chance to organize your children (or your) birthday party with friends and family acting in the circus. Sound funny, doesn’t it? However, if you just feel like spending a nice afternoon as a spectator with your kid, you must know that tasty sausages and pretzels are sold during the show.
