Purog Kangri in Nagqu, Tibet

People who like to travel to Tibet always know Tibet is famous for the white snowy mountains and pure lakes.

Today we will go to see a famous glacier in Tibet.

With an area of more than 400 square kilometers, the Purog Kangri Glacier in the largest glacier in the middle and low latitude in the world.

It is located in the Nagqu Area of Tibet with an elevation of 6000 meters to 6800 meters. Since it was found in 1999, it was regarded as the third largest glacier in the world, except the glacier in the North Pole and South Pole.

 

The surface of Purog Kangri Glacier is flat. The lowest place is 5350 meters high. It is here that the glacier exists with lakes and desert. That is unique natural scenery rare in the world.

Near the Purog Kagqu Glacier, there lives many Tibetan antelopes, wild Tibetan donkeys and yaks. From each November to next April, lots of travelers come here having a view of the icy walls on the bank of lakes and wonderful snowy scenery.
