Over the last few years the classic gin and tonic has seen a huge rise in popularity, and Barcelona is no exception, with many bars popping up to serve the British beverage to delighted locals and visitors.
Here’s a List of our Favorite Gin and Tonic bars in Barcelona…Chin Chin
With a selection of over twenty-five speciality gins and an extensive list of delectable cocktails, Rubí bar is sure not to disappoint. Located in the center of El Born district, just yards from the Picasso Museum, it’s surrounded by restaurants and bars to tie into your night out. There’s no messing around with Rubí’s drinks – their gins are home-made, infused with juniper berries, spices, herbs and even fruits such as strawberries as well as many other delights. This intimate hangout is a great place to head with friends or that special someone for a date night with a difference.

For a bar with a speakeasy style, truly living up to its name, Old Fashioned is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the back streets of Gràcia, they serve excellent (and endless) cocktails, complemented with a side of jazz, Charleston and swing music to offer a really authentic yet still elegant atmosphere…you’ll forget you’re in the heart of Barcelona! As well as creative cocktails using rare spirits (your favorite classics and their own takes), they serve mouth-watering gin and tonics, with an emphasis on artisan and unique gins…of course! Whatever you do, make sure you try the DIY Bloody Mary.

The Lime House
The Lime House is the sister bar to Rubí, well-known for its mojitos, however it also specializes in gin and tonic, offering a list even longer than its partner in crime…would you believe. Also located in the sophisticated El Born neighborhood, it’s the perfect place to head for after dinner drinks or to kick your night off with friends. With an impressive and somewhat wacky range of gin flavors, from rosemary and garlic (yes, garlic) to coffee, chocolate and even wasabi, the drink offering is sure to keep you on your toes. If you’ve tried the gins and fancy something different, we recommend the sake or the peach mojito, for a truly unique tipple. If you get peckish they even offer a substantial food menu so you can dine with friends and try their delectable tapas dishes.
Carrer dels Carders 31, 08003 Barcelona
As a pioneer of the gin and tonic scene in Barcelona, Elephanta has been concocting the fresh drinks for locals and visitors since before it became fashionable. With a selection of forty different types of homemade gins, mixed by bartenders who have perfected the ratio of gin to tonic after years of experience, Elephanta easily steals one of the top spots for gin bars in Barcelona in our opinion. The atmosphere is cozy, with vibrant décor to match their drinks, creating a great hang out for groups of friends or intimate evenings any day of the week.
Carrer Torrent d'en Vidalet 37, 08012 Barcelona
Just like the previous bars we’ve listed, Bobby Gin is a hotspot offering an equally extensive list of gins, including floral, citrus and even spiced flavours. However, what sets it apart from the rest is not what they have behind the bar, but rather who. Concocting your refreshments for the night is the 2011 winner of the ‘World Class Bartender’ title, Alberto Pizarro. So if the perfect G&T is what you’re after, you’ll be in safe hands here. Bobby Gin also offers a delicious appetizer menu, including dishes such as ceviche, Venezuelan arepas, Iberian wild pork and gin and tonic cured salmon…obviously.
