An Adventurous Trekking Journey ??
Trekking at Kanchenjunga is a long adventurous journey through beautiful mountains along the Himalayas of Eastern Nepal.
The trek begins in tropical lowlands that will take you to great altitudes where there is nothing but snow and rocks everywhere around.
Wildlife and High Peaks
The region is protected as the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, which spreads across 2,035 km2 (786 sq mi) with a rich and diverse wildlife such as Red Pandas, Himalayan Black Bears and Snow Leopards among others; and Mount Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world and second highest peak of Nepal that rises with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,209 ft).
Trekking Path for a Few
Kanchenjungha Circuit Trek opened since 1988 for travelers, providing the trekkers a panoramic view of mountains above eight thousand meters such as: Lhotse, Makalu, Everest, and Kanchenjunga.
Even though it is one of the best well known trekking routes to travelers in the Himalaya region, only a few visit this area every year.
A Permit is Required
The Circuit begins at Sukhetar, Taplejung if accessed by flight or by road from Basantapur. A special permit from an authorized Trekking Agency is required for this trek, since it can be quite challenging at times as it mostly involves long and strenuous walks to high altitudes.
Recommend this trek to anyone with good physical fitness and desire for adventure.
