When it comes to food, Mallorca has a lot to offer.
The Balearic cuisine is excellent and if you are in the mood of going out for dinner and don't want to go to one of the thousand touristic restaurants next to the beach you should check out one of the followings:
1. Bodega des Port in Alcudia
This is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. They have excellent tapas and one of the best paellas you have ever tasted. Especially the paella marisca and the datiles con bacon are very good! The restaurant is situated at the harbor of Puerto de Alcudia
2. Es Guix in Lluc
This restaurant is in the middle of the mountains on the street connecting Pollennça and Soller. It has a pool build into the rocks and if you go there in the summer don’t forget to take you bathing suit with you. At Es Guix you can eat the best suckling pig on the island. If you don’t like that they still have a big variety of things you can eat on their menu
3. Es Verger in Alaró
A small restaurant in Alaró about 3-4 km away from civilization, it's situated right underneath the castle of Alaró. The Castle is an ancient fortification from the Moors. The mountain offers beautiful views over Mallorca as far as Palma and Alcudia Bay and the Tramuntana mountain range. I would recommend to walk up the castle and then stop at es Verger on the way back. Es Verger is known for offering the best lamb on the island. Definitely a must try. The house wine is also very good and very cheap, only € 6 the bottle!
4. Mirador de la Victoria in Alcudia
This is a really great restaurant for everyone who enjoys a really good view. The way to the restaurant is difficult and you can only get there with your own car but it’s worth it. You have a beautiful view over the bay of Pollença and the sunsets up there are marvelous. The food is also very good. Typical mallorcan food with great meat and fish dishes.
5. Restaurant La Llonja in Puerto Pollença
This restaurant situated in the middle of the harbor with a great view over the beaches and the boats. The harbor is known for its excellent fish. For people who don’t like fish they also have some traditional majorcan meat dishes like lamb.
