Over the weekend, I was walking around Kit Carson Park in Escondido, CA. I noticed a hummingbird hovering over the ground in near proximity to me.
Without warning, the hummingbird dove toward the ground at a tiny strip of bark.
As I looked closer, I noticed the hummingbird was feeding another little hummingbird, presumably its baby. I observed the baby for awhile, taking note that it did not know how to fly. Then I realized that I had walked on the grass surrounding the baby.
The travel tip that I learned from this experience was to be careful where I tread.
