I realized as I was departing from my apartment today that I pass through the lobby daily without noticing its eccentricities.
My apartment was built in the 1920s, in the early days of Hollywood. It was a hotel that was situated one mile from the Paramount picture studio lot.
The hotel rooms were complete with Murphy beds, beds that were stored vertically against the nearest walls and pulled down to sleep on. When I initially moved into my apartment, I was excited by the odds and ends of the 1920s that I observed all around me, the fire escapes, door handles, and the black and white tiled floors.
Before I made my final departure from my apartment for the day, I stopped and snapped a few pictures of the eccentric items in my lobby that I had been overlooking.
