Koombana Bay is the summer sensation of Bunbury, Western Australia. 
We started our Kiwi trip in Christchurch. We rented a RV with a bed and a small kitchen (the kitchen comes out from underneath the bed and you have to open the back of the van to cook). The total price was around $2,000 for two weeks, including insurance.
It's like swimming in a giant pool. The sand bar of Bais City is a gem waiting to be discovered. I'm glad to be one of the few who did. You can even find dolphins swimming en route to this sand bar.
