Sometimes you have to fight the feeling in your stomach trying to prevent you from possible danger and just take the jump.
Besides metaphors for life, when it comes to living the extreme fun it applies all the same.
Near the small town of Te Puke on the North Island of New Zealand is Whataroa Waterfall. Although it is a popular swimming hole and picnic sight, this cascading waterfall drapped in beautiful green vegetation is hidden away.
So, what do you do when you find said paradise?
You jump off of it!
Walking and driving instructions:
An all vehicle types drive takes roughly 1 hour either from Rotorua or from Tauranga. The road surface is sealed then turning to the gravel one for the last 4 km.
There is a parking at Mountains Rd with some table for a picnic and toilets.
A walking 2 hours return Whataroa Falls track is leading to the base of the upper waterfall.
There are at least 3 more waterfalls there on the same river. But only the upper waterfall is easy accessible. There is an unofficial track which is following to the other waterfalls. The second one is more or less accessible, while for the third one you'll need to have at least a rope.
