Peppers! from Calabria: The Region in the "Nose of the Italian Boot"

Sweet but hot peppers form Calabria, those round ones. Best under oil and on your pizza. Mjum!
The super hot Calabrese pepper, the sharp and pointy one. They make delicious souce of it. be warned. And in the back dries cripsy sweet pepper for over your favorite pasta.
Hot calabrese peppers
A plate of pasta "cime di rape" I cooked myself! yeah. Actually form the fellow southern regions of Puglia and Basilicata

Italy doesn't have a spicy kitchen... many think.

Untill you arrive in the south!

Here in Calabria you'll find heaps of opportunity to burn your mouth.

Pizza's and pastas are served standard with peppers on the side: pepper of all kinds, or under golden olive oil or sun dried and crumbled. But there's also "Pepperoni Cruschi" the crumbled sundried sweet pepper for over your paste with turntips (looks like broccoli but it isn't) and bread crumbs.

Check out some peppers I found on my trip to Capo Vaticano and Tropea, Calabria, Italy.
