Filimg our cycling and culinary experience in the heart of Slovenia

After a late night out exploring all that Ljubljana has to offer in culinary and beers, we somehow found the energy to drag ourselves out of bed and into the car the next morning for an incredible cycling and culinary experience in the heart of Slovenia.

While a standard tour may not have sparked our interest that morning, the exhilarating experience of cycling down the beautiful lush green mountains of Slovenia kicked us right back into gear for an incredibly amazing day.

Mr. Tine Zupančič, a local tour guide at LB&T, took us on a wild cycling trip to various eco-farms in Central Slovenia where we learned all about their local honey production and tasted an immense amount of honey, cheese and meat.

Here’s just a recap of what we got up to:

  • We started our day eating breakfast at Travnar Farm in the Volavlje village eating some delicious cheese, pickles and meat.

  • We started our bike tour making our way through Prezganje past a beautiful church

  • We biked onward to Veliko Trebeljevo and stopped many times to snap landscape photos and pick wild strawberries along the road side

  • We made a stop shortly after Stangarske Poljane to visit Eco Beekeeping Vozelj where we tasted the local honey and pollen and learned how they ship the queen bees to start new colonies

  • Just around the corner we stopped off at Farm Menegalija for some fresh squeezed apple juice and hand picked strawberries

As if we hadn’t had enough food, we ended our tour at Tine’s family restaurant in Dolsko for a delicious three course meal before heading back into the city center of Ljubljana.

Definitely a tour worth remembering!
