Just a short bus ride outside the populous city of Chengdu, Huang Long Xi Ancient Town is a place that boasts antiquity, taste and a cultural experience of ancient China.
With the preserved remnants of the Qing and Ming dynasties, Huang Long Xi Ancient Town is a maze of restored, ancient streets filled with tea houses, souvenier shops and plenty of food vendors to satisfy any appetite. Walking the cobblestone streets will transport you back in time, while sipping tea along the riverfront will create an unforgettable experience.
Getting there is easy—from the Xiannmen Bus Station in Chengdu, purchase a one-way ticket to Huang Long Xi Ancient Town (14rmb). Buses leave Chengdu every 25 minutes and the journey takes about an hour, with a few stops near the end. Once at the final stop, get off the bus and wait for a local bus (1rmb) to transport you to the gates of Huang Long Xi Ancient Town, or you could walk 500 meters, upslope to town.

While this ancient town is a happy place to spend the day, it is a tourist spot and tends to get very busy and overcrowded. So after taking some time to walk the streets in the ancient town—preferrably the ones at the tail end—find your way over to the river where you can then relax with a cup of tea and take in all the sights.
