Alaska's Turquoise Colored Mendenhall Glacier

Alaska's Turquoise Colored Mendenhall Glacier

When in Juneau, Alaska take the short ride from Alaska's state capital to Mendenhall Valley to checkout the glacier and visitor center of the same name.

The visitor center, recreation area and glacier are a part of  the Tongass National Forest.

Along with the turquoise colored glacier you'll see snow capped mountains, greenery, a waterfall and more.  You might even run into a bear or seeing salmon swimming.

For the more adventurous, excursions including helicopter rides over and onto the glacier are options.
