As a city, Casablanca is full of extremes. In one part of town, there is valet parking for Starbucks, while two streets over, there is an"urban villiage" where people live as if they were still in the countryside.
In the heart of Casablanca stands a remnent of French neogothic architecture. The Sacred Heart Cathedral was a center of worship until Moroccan independence. Now it is the center of cutural events. Extra info from Wikipedia:
