Tapas Tastings in Granada's Calle Navas - feeling authentically Spanish

It's no secret that Spain is famous for its tapas:

bite-sized appetizers of savory Spanish food.

The best place to get them?

Aside from the world-renowned pintxos of Basque Country, Granada, set in the olive groves of Andalucia is known for giving away a free tapa with every drink. The crown jewel of free tapas territory is Calle Navas, a long narrow street next to the town hall in stuffed to the limit with tapas bars.

So saunter up to the counter, and in your best Spanish accent, order a caña (a small beer, often cheaper than soda!) or tinto de verano (red wine with lemon Fanta), devour the tapa that accompanies your drink, pay your cuenta, and move on to the next bar.

Repeat.

Relish in feeling authentically Spanish.
