Learn to Snowboard at Northstar, Tahoe, California
Up until this week, I had absolutely no experience on a snowboard, had never really skied, either, and I have been a complete klutz for my entire life. I was not optimistic that snowboarding would go well for me.
I enrolled in a class at the Burton Academy at Northstar at Tahoe in California, and by the end of the day, I was riding the slopes like a champ. Alright, not a champ, but not a complete tool. The classes are no more than four students per instructor, so you get plenty of personal attention to improve your form and confidence. The lessons will challenge you to do more than you think you can, and you'll be surprised at how successful you'll be.
I had a blast and I definitely caught the snowboarding bug. I recommend the Burton Academy classes for their expert instructors and small class sizes -- other lessons on the mountain take bigger groups, and you won't get nearly as much personal attention from your instructor.
Northstar at Tahoe is a gorgeous place for a snowboarding trip, and the Burton Academy is the perfect place to spend your first day on the mountain, whether you're an intermediate rider looking to fine tune your skills, or a klutzy snow virgin like myself -- it'll be worth your while.
