If you're willing to go a little bit out of your way, you can save big bucks on rental cars in Florida. 
 
Lots of people drive rentals into Florida and leave them in the Sunshine State, and the rental car companies often have a surplus, so they'll offer deals to people who will rent cars in Florida and return them somewhere out of state. 
 
To find the very best deal, search several companies and locations to pick up the car.  When you find the cheapest offer, go to retailmenot.com and search for coupons to bring down the price even more.  Using this method, I was able to get a mid-sized rental car for $7 a day!
 
Of course, there's no guarantee that you'll love the car, but at least it will be cheap!
