Girly shopping in central Seoul, South Korea
Girly shopping central in Seoul.
This travel tip is for girls who are traveling in Korea or are going to be. Or if you just like exotic things.
If you want some excitements in Seoul, then check out where the university is. Usually that will do. Many of commercial supremacy develop around schools.
There's an old school called Ewha Women’s University. One of the most historical places in Seoul. Besides all of those serious histories, the boulevard which the school is located to, is the best shopping place. Especially since this school is a Women’s school, there is a lot of girly stuff. We call this boulevard E Dae, short for Ehwa womens uviversity (Dae is shorten for University in Korean language). Before all the fancy and expensive malls were kicking in, this place was the shopping centre for everybody.
What kind of things can you find here? It starts with unique design cloths, accessories, shoes handbags, coffee shops, hair salons, snacks and everything you want for, when you shop. Recently a movie theater and mall was build at the end of E Dae street. I dare to say that this is the perfect place for girly shopping in entire Seoul.
The one thing I like the most is shopping for clothes here. E Dae has many unique stores. However according to trend, lots of clothes came out smaller than actual sizes. Just remember this when you look around.
I will tell you an insider travel tip.
One thing you need to remember is, you have to haggle the price. When you are traveling, even if you are shopping right then, you want to buy it cheaper, right? Minimize the buyer’s remorse. Sellers always say it is a fixed price but they never are. And if you pay with cash, then they will give you a higher discount.
Moreover, there is lots of cool places in the little alley. Tasty clothes and interesting accessories. Don't be afraid to look into the little alleys. E Dae is not complicated so you will never get lost.
Even if you are not buying, and if you are a ‘travel dude’, this is still a very interesting place, worth to visit and to look around. Take a glance of what kind of things Korean girls are into.
*How to get there
Get off at Ewha Women’s university station. Subway line 2 (green line).
