Secret Beach on Rhode Island - A Wonderful Place to Relax

That beach is near Weekapaug Rhode Island.

We were heading for the state beach when a sudden thunderstorm closed the access road. We wandered around looking for ocean access and stumbled upon this small beach near some oceanside mansions.

It's not well marked. Just a few parking places along side a neighborhood road. A couple of narrow trails from the road down through the beach roses.

All the locals seem to know about it. They were generally friendly. I'm not sure how crowded the beach normally is, but on this afternoon, we had the place to ourselves. The tide was out, so there was plenty of beach.

Needless to say it was a beautiful afternoon and a wonderful place to relax.
