Breaking Down the Norwegian Breakaway

After the Norwegian Cruise Lines' Norwegian Breakaway arrival at the Port of New York City, which will be her homeport for her inaugural season, I was lucky enough to be chosen for a 2-Day Pre-Inaugural Cruise.

The 2-Day Pre-Inaugural Cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway May 10-12, 2013 was a cruise-to-nowhere, but what an experience it was.

 

Here's a list of three things you just can't miss onboard (in my humble opinion):

1) Geoffrey Zakarian's Ocean Blue Restaurant

This restaurant is the total package. From the first second you are greeted by the hostess until the moment you are trying not to lick the plate for dessert, it is a stupendous experience. Top-notch service, delicious cuisine (I suggest the Crab Risotto), and a cool, sophistocated atmosphere.

 

2) The Ropes Course

The Ropes Course is the perfect place to get a thrill and some exercise onboard the ship. Stepping up to the course can be daunting, and even halfway through it can be a bit rattling (looking down, seeing the space below), but the satisfaction at the end is worth it. It'll be a great way to build up your hunger for another round at the buffet.

 

3) Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy & Dinner

What a spectacle! From the delicious appetizer of mozzarella and prosciutto to the interactive performers, this show/dinner is quite an experience. The feats of strength and flexibility will bend your mind, and the dessert-three-ways will really satisfy that sweet tooth!
