Aqaba - The Arab Tourist Capital
The Arab Tourism Ministers Council has chosen Aqaba as the Arab tourism capital for 2011.
Jordan’s sole port city being chosen is going to attract tourist from all over the world and help transform it into a regional centre for tourist-related gatherings and conferences.
The council’s decision was made after considering a number of factors that made Aqaba the unique destination it is; its residential capacity, moderate weather all year round, different cultural and tourism activities and ease of access.
Aqaba is also well known for its beach resorts that offer water sports and service those who come for diving in its crystal clear water surrounded by brightly coloured coral and fish.
