The Danube is the second biggest and longest river in Europe and it took me over 35 years to finally see it for the first time and... to fall in love with it!
We crossed the only bridge in Belgrade over the Danube River – the old metal, heavy thing built in 1935.   Once on the other side of Belgrade we continued towards Pancevo city, well known for its accident-prone factories which sometimes pollute the whole of Belgrade.
The largest in Serbia and one of the largest of it's kind in the world, Petrovaradin fortress is the symbol of Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest city and the capital of Vojvodina province.
